The Beautiful English prose formulated by the Jesuit Fathers at the English college in Douay and edited by Dr. Challoner in Rheims is head and shoulders above the "modern vernacular" editions that have been published since.
CAVEAT!! The inserted pages with places to record dates and events include pages "About The Mass" that speak in terms of "The Liturgy of the Word" and the "Liturgy of the Eucharist." In the mid-60's these terms were used to refer to the Mass of the Catechumens and the Mass of the Faithful before the introduction of the Novus Ordo Missae, but have since become connected with the New Mass exclusively. Any modern thought in these pages might be easily explained to any child who uses the volume, and can be easily ignored by any adult. You may also feel free to ignore the "Luminous Mysteries" in the section on the Holy Rosary."
